TACKLING ANTi-COMPETITIVE BEHAVIOUR IN BUSINESS

Are you cheating or competing?

It’s recognised that the majority of business leaders intend to run their companies ethically and aim to make a positive contribution to society. Yet, as general levels of knowledge of competition law is low, many business people, especially those in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) don’t fully understand what constitutes anti-competitive behaviour. This includes activities undertaken by business cartels i.e. price fixing, market sharing and bid rigging. This means many businesses could be engaging in illegal activity without realising it or properly understanding the severity of the consequences.

Our task was to raise awareness and understanding of business cartel behaviours to increase awareness and understanding, compliance and quality reporting.

We needed to help our audience understand that these behaviours (price fixing, bid rigging and market sharing) are illegal and they shouldn’t entertain the thought of doing them.

Our behaviour change strategy was all about reframing the illegal business behaviors into those that were pertinent to the small business and to ensure that the communication would be seen both by the those carrying out the behaviours and importantly those that might be witnessing the behaviours.

Targeted LinkedIn FIlms

The Cheating or Competing ? campaign makes it easier than ever for businesses to understand what’s illegal and what’s not – making sure that ignorance is no longer an excuse.

The imagery we chose reflected the innocuous environments that these agreements were taking place in, at networking events, travel hotels or simply in meeting rooms.

The campaign was delivered across social video, digital display, radio and press.
